I haven't written in awhile and I had a little time to do so. I just want to point out how excited I am for this year's holiday's!! For Thanksgiving, Scott and I drove up to Minnesota to spend time w/ Rory and Kim. We had a blast! We made Thanksgiving dinner, went to Mall of America, IKEA, bar hopping downtown Stillwater (which is beautiful!), played trivia, and many other exciting activities! And for xmas this year we are going up to Milwaukee to spend with my family. This will be the first time in 2 years that my whole family will be together for the holidays. I believe the last time we were all together was at our wedding.
Scott and I just moved into our new apartment. We really like it, but right now it just feels like we are staying here not living here...does that make sense? We are very lucky too...our cat Caesar adjusted very well to his new surroundings. He has a lot more windows to sit in and stare down chipmonks and birdies!!
Well..I know this is short and sort of an odd blog but I gotta go! Scott gets off work early today and I want to have the shopping done before he gets home so we can hang:)
Happy Holidays Everyone!!!!

WoRk, FrIeNdS, aNd LiFe
I just want to say that I am so thankful for everyone in my life. I truly have some of the greatest friends I could possibly have. I shouldn't complain about life right now...it has gotten a lot better...I should say, we are not like we were. I am grateful for my job (that I even have a job), but I can complain about this: the drive to work...not so fun. I drive an hour; I wake up @ 5 every morning, drive an hour to work, work 8-5 then drive an hour home=does not leave a lot of time to have a life during the week. On the weekends i just want to sleep and also do as much as I can...I only got 2 days. But I am grateful I can work while Scott is going to school. But I miss my friends, I miss being able to go out to lunch or get a coffee at 1 in the afternoon..I miss the Hills!!!!!! aaahhhh!!! Hopefully life will calm down and get straightened out so I can have more time to be around the people I enjoy!

New Beginnings
This month is full of life changes. Scott and I are going through...well we are at the end of our financial crisis and ready for a fresh start. It's sad that things turned out the way they did but I am grateful to be alive and breathing. I got a job at Zimmer in Marketing Communications as an admin. and i really enjoy it. It definitely keeps me busy, definitely not a job you can slack at. I am also looking forward to January b/c the job goes direct through Zimmer...I'm through Kelly right now. Scott is loving school. He has been getting A's in all his classes. I turned 26 last week and it just doesn't seem right. I have 4 more years until I"m 30 and that is a little bit scary. Not that I think that is old just the fact that 4 years will go by super fast....and that is what is depressing. Oh well. It will be neat to see how much changes in the next couple years.
My sister Jocelyn is going to be delivering their 3rd child in exactly 1 day and a half. A little girl named Charlotte aka Lucy. Don't ask. My parents are going to become poor in October. They have Ryans, mine, and now Charlottes birthday all each a week apart from the other. Ryans is the 8th, mine the 15th, and Charlottes the 22nd plus Scott and I have our anniversary on the 28th. Crazy busy month!
Alrighty...well I'm going to bed...peace.
Well..until then....

Labor Day Wknd
I had an eventful patriotic weekend. We hit it off with the Presidents of The United States of America concert...I"m wondering if that was planned.... We saw a lot of people out that we haven't seen for a long time. Did absolutely nothing on Saturday and on Sunday night went out to dinner w/ the Woodfills @ El Azteca. Scott had to work which was a bummer but it was good food. And now I'm exhausted from a night of poker playing till 3 in the morning. I'm tired and I start my new job tomorrow. It's really exciting!! I am working in the HR dept @ Zimmer. It is a lot of paper work, scheduling interviews, and attention to detail. It is going to be challenging @ the beginning b/c there is so much to learn but I"m up for the challenge! I will be working 8-5 everyday w/ weekends off!! Yay! But the most appealing part of the job is the innovation center....more like the play area:) There is a cafe, bookcase full of toys (including a mr. potato head doll), booths that are hooked up to computers and flat screens so you can write on the table, and a spiral slide that leads into a things of balls. No people this is not for empolyees children, it is for the employees. I can't wait to go down the slide...and I WILL let you know how it went!!:) hahah!

A new job.
I got a job at Biaggi's. One word: Tough. I cannot believe how hard it is to memorize the menu. There's so many items it's crazy. I'm actually kind of freaking out right now. I didn't know that serving would be this intimidating. I'm trying my best to study the crap out of this stuff and it seems like it isn't sinking in. Tomorrow we have a test on the food.....not confident at all. I'm hoping I can nip it in the bud and get all of this soaking up in my head. So Scott left car sales...FOR GOOD!!! Yay!! He was hired in as a bartender @ El Azteca and will be taking classes this fall for computer science. We have had some life changing events happen the past couple months and are trying to get ourselves back to where we need to be, even if that means having to serve to make ends meet in the mean time. I'm not escatic about going back into serving, but I need to be making money while I'm looking for a real job. But I am so happy for Scott. He is going back to school and that's exactlly what he wants for himself. I'm happy he can do that now and not later. He's super excited as well and now we will be focusing on getting ourselves to where we need and want to be.

So I just found out today that Sarah created a blogspot!! Yeepee!! I am super stoked! Anyhow..just got back from playing softball, we lost:( Oh well. We have tournament next weekend and it might just be the last Sunday we play this year. And I cannot believe summer is almost coming to an end. I know, I know we have a whole month left but it feels like it has flown by. Alrighty well I gotta go...till next time...

Weekend Fun
Okay so I know that I wrote about how my weekend began and I just wanted to talk about how it ended! So where did I leave off....Oh...I was going to go over to the Keene's house. Yes, that is what we did. They had us over for dinner and then we were off to the Huntington Drive-in. We packed up our lawn chairs, a couple sweatshirts, and a blanket and watched Hancock and Get Smart. Hancock was pretty good and Get Smart was eh okay. But we had such a good time just the 2 of us that we are going to start making that a date night thing (well for the summer that is). We didn't leave till 1:45 AM...but it was all worth it. The next morning we got up and went to Hall's for breakfast and to read the Sunday paper. Afterwards we played a game of testicle toss..I won 2 games in a row, I"m so cool. We then went over to Scott's parents house to ride w/ them to pick up Greg from Busco and made a pit stop @ JR's. We got some ice cream and headed back. We went swimming for a couple hours and then had to go to my softball game. Let's just say we did alright but we didn't win:( Oh well. I was pretty proud of myself, I had some pretty good hits. But what really made that day is when my parents showed up. I know they are pretty exhausted on the weekends b/c of work but they came out and I was so happy! It's nice to show off in front of the parents! Scott left before the second game and went grocery shopping...definitely will win an award. Monday were closed so I spent the day w/ Jessica and the kids swimming @ the pool. We then had dinner @ Bobby-Evans and ended the night watching The Bachelorette. I am so happy b/c she chose Jesse. He was the under-dog. He's your typical snow boarder w/ long hair...but I loved him and didn't think she was going to choose him. Okay so you can see that I had a fun-filled 4th of july weekend. and I will end it there!

Summer Lovin'
Today is July 5th and I am at work waiting for my noon to show up. I just have to say this weekend has been awesome, excluding waking up this morning from an all day drink-a-thon. Not so much fun. But anyhow. Thursday night I got home from work around 7 and when I walked into our house it was like stepping into Mr. Cleans casa. Scott had gone to town. He put all the dishes away, vacuumed, threw away junk mail and cleaned up all the random items laying around, swept the kitchen floor and cleaned the downstairs bathroom. That's not all. He then moved outside where he organized the garage, then he mowed the front and back yard, hosed down the patio, and scrubbed the outside table down. I was speechless. Scott really does help out a lot with house work but he went above and beyond! The best part of all this is that I didn't even ask him to do this. I think I am going to present him with the Year of the Outstanding Husband Award! haha! So after all that awesomeness we hung out w/ the Woodfills for the night. Becca made this carrot curry soup and oriental salad...yumm. It was really good. Anyhow. Yesterday, for the 4th we went over to Rick and Kays for fun 4th festivities. I haven't drank like that in forever. Started at 11-12 and didn't stop till 11 at night. The food was awesome and the fireworks were ooo'in and aahh'n:) Got some sun and played games all day. Allison (Taylors daughter) is my new buddy. She kept coming up to me and giving me hugs...so sweet. I would have to say Sam and I were the comeback queens in testicle toss...okay hillbilly golf....it's more fun to say the other name:) We were down 15-3, and came back and won it 21-20!! What what!! We had a really good time catching up w/ everyone that we haven't seen for awhile that was way overdue. So today I'm going to meet up w/ Jessica and go to a little girls b-day party @ Token N' Tickets....I can't resist! Then probably just hang...maybe have dinner w/ the Keenes...and then tomorrow....soak up some sun and play softball...I love the 4th of July:)!!!

Coffe Shop Talk
Today is the first of July...can't believe it. Only 6 more months and snow will be falling...yucky! Summer isn't all here yet either and by the time you know it it will be gone:( Oh well...I guess I can look forward to Halloween and our 2nd anniversary. Oh and my birfday. Gosh only 4 more years and I'll be 30...yikes! Anyhow. So I started @ B'dubs the other day. 2 days later I quit:) ha! I can't help it. I guess I didn't know what I was getting into. I truly like fine dining a whole lot better. So things aren't the greatest right now. We really have hit rock bottom but we have our heads high and have big expectations for our future. Scott's work is starting to pick up a bit and he had one amazing week...oota to him:) He has totally turned in the right direction and has gotten out of his slump and doing well. Go baby go!! We have a good life...even though we're not where we wanted to be it's still all good b/c we have each other and can keep motivating each other. Well I had a good day today. I got to sleep in w/ Scottie, had a couple of appointments come in, drove to a couple doctor offices today, and now I'm at Friendly Fox. I love me some lattes, so I indulged in a vanilla iced latte. Yummy! And I've been playing around on the internet. I actually had a good Monday as well. I hung out w/ my mom all day running around doing errands and browsing. I also joined her for lunch and dinner. My parents have become vegans and let me tell you....it's awesome! Seriously. I love eating over at their house. For lunch I had a egg salad (sub tofu for egg) on toasted rye w/ organic chips and salsa....the best by far that my dad has made. I think he should can it and sell it it's that good. It's beyond good. It's magnificent!! Anyhow. For dinner we had pancakes made w/ flax whole grain pancake mix...yummy! Who doesn't like pancakes for dinner? For anyone that frowns on vegan food...don't knock till you try it. I wish I could be as committed as my parents are. Well the vegan thing must be good for ya...b/c my dad is a diabetic and probably wouldn't be alive in a couple years is in the greatest health of his life and has lost over 45 pounds. My mom also joined him and has lost over 20 some pounds...maybe 30 not sure. But their health is incredible. Hopefully I can join them soon. Alrighty well I need to get home and make some dinner I'm getting hungry! Peace!

Gotta job!
Okay so we started this business awhile back and I love coming to work and getting stuff done, but as of right now we are not making an income. So the past couple weeks I've been filling out apps @ restaurants, hardware stores, retail stores, etc and I had no such luck. I did apply @ Buffalo Wild Wings and had a really laid back interview w/ the GM. I waited for a week and called, he was busy. So I waited a couple more days, he was not there. So I called about 4 days later and I got the job! Yeah!! I'm really excited b/c I'm only going to be working like 2-3 days a week and that is just perfect. I'm a little nervous though. I haven't served in what 2 years??....and to get back into the stream of things will be a little different. But hey I've done it before and I think I'll be alright. It is going to be nice to be bringing in some kind of income. I wish I didn't have to get another job but hey that's life and you gotta do what you gotta do to live your life. So wish me luck!

Checking for gender:)
Well my sister is here and I'm at work. Butt! She is coming in in a little bit to get an ultrasound done by me. We are going to check the gender! We are crossing our fingers it's a girl...if not...it's still awesome b/c I've wanted to do this ever since she told me she was prego! Anyhow. My mom and I drove up to Detroit Monday morning to pick her and the kids up and then we met Wades mom out for lunch at an Indian restaurant. That was really good. I have never eaten somewhere like that before and really enjoyed it. We were all very tired but got home safely and now we are enjoying our time together! We've already visited the zoo and went for a drive in G-mas convertible and played on the jungle gym for awhile. I love being around those boys...those Irvine Boys:) They can make me cry from laughing and that's the best feeling!!

MY SISTER IS VISITING!!!!
So- my sister, her two boys, and the little one in the womb...are going to be flying in on Monday to visit for a week!! I can't say how much I"m excited to see them! The last time we were able to see each other was during Thanksgiving..so that was what?? 6-7 months ago? Yeah that's how the Shaffer family rolls yo! We get to see each other about once or twice a year..if we're lucky. Everyone is so busy w/ their family and their jobs, plus...everyone lives in a different state. Let's see there's Indiana, where my parents and I live, Wisconsin, where my brother Ryan lives, Minnesota, where Rory lives, and New Hampshire where my sister Jocelyn lives. So yes you could say we're spread out. I do have 4 of the coolest nephews and niece around...with on the way which we don't know the gender yet. But we will be finding out this upcoming week...another reason why I"m soo excited that they are coming out here! I get to perform an ultrasound on my sis! We're crossing our fingers it's a girl..if not I feel horrible for the future high school teachers that will have to handle 3 Irvine Boys.....The Irvine Boys....they are going to be trouble! Hahaha! Till next time!

OuR LitTlE sToRy!!
I met Scott about 8 or so years ago, when we first met, he came up to me and said "You don't know it but we're gonna be together forever"......well duh I blew him off....I had no idea who this person was and just thought get outta here! He moved to Indy w/ Brad and we kept in contact through IM or email. I didn't think of Scott as a bf...that never crossed my mind...except for this one day when he lived up here still and we were hanging out at a friends house...I thought...he's pretty cute..hmmmm...hahah! Anyhow, he eventually moved back up to FW. I remember running into Brad in the mall and he asked why hadn't I hung out w/ them...so I decided to hangout and went over to Drew's house this one night. It was crazy...Scott and I started to have a little connection. Anyways. We hung out often that summer of 01and we attended IPFW but we never really addressed each other with the whole idea of dating. I think we were just young and having fun hanging out and going to parties that we never said anything....until one day. Well we started dating...October 10, 2001 to be exact...and our first date was a wedding! ha!! That cracks me up....we didn't go to the movies or to a dinner for the first date instead a wedding....probably a sign:) If I can remember...I don't think Scott and I really went to the movies or out to eat a lot when we first started dating, I think we just wanted to hangout w/ friends and party...woohooo!!!!!!! Only dating for 2 months Scott and I went on a cruise together....see this was crazy b/c one, we really never had serious relationships w/ anyone and two, it serious felt like we had been dating forever but I guess we weren't together that long b/c even on the cruise I still wouldn't use the restroom in our room.......I would go to a public one......funny huh? Ok so we have been in a lot of situations where we really have put our relationship to the test! Like this one. It was the first summer together and my family had planned this huge vacation. Starting up in Irons, Michigan canoeing and then off to Milwaukee, Wisconsin drinking and hanging out w/ my siblings! While we were canoeing, let's just say Scott and I had some or a lot of bad words to say to each other. I don't think anyone thought we would last. That was the worst canoe ride ever and we haven't' done that since. We moved into Canterbury Apts only being together for a year with Kristi and Andrea....yes 3 girls and 1 guy...Scott made a lot of guys jealous that year!! We moved out went back to our parents houses to live for 4 mths then I moved up to Michigan for 3 mths while Scott and Dusting moved into an apt. I came back and moved in w/ them. The year after that Scott and I got our first official place only the two of us at Dupont Lakes Apts and about couple mths after that we got engaged. He was too excited to wait so the day he picked up the ring was the day he proposed! We went to a Wizards game (which I was not in the mood to go but I did) and got the announcer to announce it over the intercom for everyone to hear..I just thought I had won something until I heared that my bf Scott had something to ask me! Yeah I was in complete shock. And a year and 5 mths later we were walking down the aisle! We had a first house, our first cat Caesar, and I was about to graduate from college! A year from that we opened a business w/ two of our bestest friends, Amanda and Brad and are working hard but loving our life that we have made for each other! Scott and I have been through so many ups and downs but we would never change anything about all the memories we have made throughout those many years together! He's my everything and he's my best friend and I am so happy to have Scott as my partner in life! I'm a very lucky girl...love ya Scottie!!! xoxo!!

First time ever
So this is just what the title says....first time I have ever done this! I'm hoping it will be something that our friends and family will get into doing! Thanks to Amanda for showing me what her mother is doing with this whole blogger thing, I'll probably be addicted!!
